  • Therapeutic play can help a child work through the stresses caused by significant events or deeper issues. And, it can improve the relationships they have with their family and friends. This is done using specific therapeutic activities (play, music, crafts, games) in a supportive and fun environment. Your child will enjoy several of these play sessions at my office, while you’ll complete at-home exercises to make sure progress and healing is happening.

  • In Family Therapeutic Play, we use an engaging method to bring out the emotions that need to be addressed, and of course, that method is play. Play can also encompass other expressive and creative means, such as art, music or storytelling.

  • It should come as no surprise to learn that, when a child needs therapy, it is likely not a singly defined issue that only involves the child. A child is a part of a ‘village.’ More importantly, they are part of a family that forms the ‘nuclei” of their world. Their family influences their viewpoints and teaches them how to behave in various social settings – whether knowingly or for this reason, family therapy services are available at my office to both enhance child therapy effectiveness, or as a start to your therapy plan. I not only help your child engage in therapeutic play, but can help your family with talk therapy, and family therapeutic play. Through these professional therapy methods, my hope is that you’ll collectively find closure on the issues that are creating disturbances in your relationships.   • I am offering parenting counselling, coaching and consultation ONLINE only. It can be said that nothing can prepare you for the ups and downs of parenthood. The surprise moments when you see the ‘first’ of something delightful, or when you encounter negative behaviour, you thought you’d never have to deal with; it’s all part of the job. Sometimes you need help with the know- how of parenting. That’s where my parent counselling can come in handy.

    The world of pregnancy and parenthood comes with a lot of noise, uncertainty, unsolicited advice (and judgement). I can help you drown out that noise and tune into your intuition. Evidence-based approaches such as cognitive behavioural therapy and narrative therapy are used to help clients process the spectrum of emotions and thoughts that surface during pregnancy and in life after birth.
